This fine art series takes my views and beliefs of being held back by our society. I often feel that at times the people who wish to become something more are pulled back into a miserable way of living because we as human beings are selfish animals.
The choice of creating each piece as black and white reflects our mindset of seeing things as either-or, while the animals represent the individual that is trying to separate themselves from a decaying society. The presence of the hands reaching out is a calling that some of us hear and to me, my ancestors try to guide me on a path that they feel is best. The use of the ancient symbols are to take the viewer back to a time when we, as a species understood balance and who we were.
This is an ongoing series.
